Chromebook PusGita is a digital library system that can be easily carried and set up, equipped with around 3000 contents such as e-books and learning videos. This system is intended to provide access to reading books and learning videos to people in remote areas and with difficult road access. This system consists of 5 Chromebook laptops as clients and 1 Raspberry Pi as a server computer. To be able to access books and learning videos, the client laptop must be connected to the Raspberry Pi wirelessly. This system is equipped with the Jellyfin application which is used as a user interface application to manage storage and access to content. With this application, users can easily search for titles, and switch folders from e-books to learning videos, and each book or video is equipped with a thumbnail to see the cover of the book they want to read or the video they want to watch. If there is new content that the user wants to add to the system, the user can enter that content on the server. By adding new content to the system, all client laptops can access the new content. This new content can be sent via an internet connection or FlashDisk, making it easier and saving shipping costs. There are no provisions for the specifications of the Chromebook the user wants to use. All laptops with the ChromeOS Operating System can be used in the system. Chromebooks can be purchased at affordable prices so that the initial costs for implementing a digital library system can be more affordable.

One of the challenges that blind people experience is limited access to books. The production of printed&nbsp;braille books is very expensive because the price of the printer itself is around 3300 USD. After that, printed&nbsp;braille books are also less practical to carry around because they are thicker than ordinary books. The&nbsp;comparison is that 1 sheet of ordinary book can produce 3 sheets of printed braille book. To tackle the challenges of limited access to traditional braille books, we have developed a transformative&nbsp;solution: replacing traditional books by displaying braille electronic books with ‘.brf’ format using the BEE&nbsp;Braille Nusantara system. Our goal is to make a wide range of literature and information accessible to the&nbsp;visually impaired community through innovative technology. By digitizing traditional books, we can overcome&nbsp;the limitations of physical braille books, such as their production cost and time-consuming nature. Through&nbsp;our advanced conversion process, we transform these books into electronic format, optimized for&nbsp;compatibility with the BEE Braille Nusantara system. This enables blind people to access and read their&nbsp;favorite books with ease. So far 11 buttons have been used for bookmarking, reading books, and etc.</li></ul> BEE Braille Nusantara is connected to a monitor, allowing librarians to view the displayed book content and navigation system information. In that case, librarians can support user who may not be familiar with BEE Braille Nusantara. There are several pages that will be displayed on the screen. BEE Braille Nusantara is connected to a website, allowing admin to manage role for users registered and librarians to manage books. For new users, registration is done through the website by entering information such as name, date of birth, Indonesian identity number, etc. The plans for the future include expanding the e-book collection, enhancing features, and seeking user feedback to shape the future development of BEE Braille Nusantara. After that, the system will be applied to the national library of the Republic of Indonesia and hopefully all libraries in Indonesia.

Revolutionizing Access to E-Books for the Visually Impaired

As one of the world's largest archipelago countries, Indonesia faces significant challenges in distributing wealth including basic infrastructures such as electricity and internet to some of its most remote islands. Due to its remoteness, people in this remote area mostly lived in poverty, which also lead to poor education quality. The digital library based on the Raspberry Pi "minicomputer" was created to address this issue. This device can store more than 2500 educational movies and e-books that can be viewed offline and has been demonstrated to be reliable even in areas with unpredictable electricity.
