Summary

Product Purpose:

The Inventory Management System at Sawah Besar Community Health Center is a mobile-based application. It was intended to assist inventory staff with product entry and management and allow medical personnel to request the products they require. One of the benefits of this product was better inventory management operations, such as real-time product availability monitoring.

Research background

Digital transformation in healthcare is crucial for industry advancement. It involves changes in health systems driven by digital technologies. To achieve the three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of providing a healthy life and increasing the welfare of people of all ages, digital transformation is required for the resilience of pharmaceutical services and medical devices in Indonesia. This digital transformation consists of converting the manual recording system into a digital one with a connected system for more accurate monitoring of medical equipment distribution. Connecting data from multiple sources to a single medical device database is also necessary.

Research history

This research was in collaboration with the Sawah Besar District Health Center. Human Resources (HR) are essential for achieving organizational goals. The Sawah Besar Health Center's inventory management system is still based on human recording. As a result, challenges continue to arise in managing medical and non-medical equipment. For prompt patient care, medical personnel need the necessary medical and non-medical devices. Procurement delays or inaccuracies in medical and non-medical items can negatively impact patient care by delaying diagnosis and treatment. During the FGD, conversations with the Sawah Besar Health Centre showed the necessity for an inventory management tool. On March 31, 2023, the first FGD (Focused Group Discussion) was held online. The Sawah Besar Community Health Center explained how it manages inventory. Following multiple focus group discussions, the final application was created on November 25, 2024, and successfully deployed for internal use on December 27, 2024.
