Summary

Paradigm Scale is an Internet of Things (IoT)-based digital weighing system designed to improve accuracy and efficiency in the process of weighing agricultural products. The system has been tested using a NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller, a load cell sensor, and a digital weighing indicator (XK3190-A12(E)) connected via an RS232 port, and is integrated with a smartphone application for digital and real-time harvest recording. Paradigm Scale aims to address various issues found in conventional weighing systems, including inaccuracies due to human error, inefficiencies in time and labor, and limitations in data recording and analysis. By adopting IoT technology, the system ensures a faster, more accurate, and automatically documented weighing process through a mobile application, enabling farmers and collectors to manage harvest data more effectively. System testing results show that this digital weighing method offers higher accuracy than traditional methods, with a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 7.19%. Moreover, the system does not rely on an internet connection, making it usable even in areas with limited network coverage.


Paradigm Scale has the potential to be further developed with additional features such as cloud integration for data storage, multi-device support via MQTT or Wi-Fi, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for predictive analysis of crop yields. With these innovations, Paradigm Scale can become a flexible, advanced, and efficient solution for Indonesia’s agricultural sector.
